I got frustrated with my fish not breeding so I got somemore!

I bought 3 marigolds (2m/1f)
and I bought a male sunset (took me ages to find at the lfs and took a long time to get it out!)

The male sunset literally took 15 minutes to net out!!!!
Luckly, the lfs lady was very nice!

I hope they breed!!!!! My ratio is now (4m:5f)

I'm pretty sure the female to male ratio is supposed to be 2:1. You ought to have 5 females and 2 or 3 males. I think it will be ok for now, just don't get any more males.

Yeah...

I might need to get another comet or two (female) but I cant seem to find them anymore

The lfs says they will get more in a few weeks !!!
Arrrrg...

my Platy ratio is 1:2, it works well, but not perfectly.

you see, one of my males is so overbred he can't breed, and three of the big girls like him and tag along, nipping at him and trying to play with him and get him to breed. the one tiny female that likes the smaller, over-enthusiastic male is consitently chased away because he wants one of the bigger girls, who can hold more fry, to have his kids.

it's a confuzzling world in my tank.

As soon as I see one of my females pregnant, I will move her into the breeding net

This may stress her but I will add a female in with her (friend)
Dont worry, I found this gigantic water filter (fabric-like) so it is definately big enough

Any problems?
