New plants

Hey everyone. I just got some plants for my first planted tank and I have a newb question. The plants I bought came with the roots planted in a little black plastic container with some sort of media inside. Am I supposed to remove the roots form this and replant them?

Yeah just take the plants out of the pots, just squeeze them out and remove as much of the media that they came in, its usually a type of wool, just take as much off as you can without damageing the roots, just take your time and its ok if you cant get it all off you rarely do, and plant.
