Just picked these up today. I think I am going to get more of the anubias.

Anubias Lanceolata

And then I have 2 of these Echinodorus Angustifolius. Ive had them for 2 weeks now, just waiting for some runners - any idea how long that usually takes?

very nice, plants are so tempting, yet that would be a waste of time cuz of the cichlids :( nice plants tho, are they all real?

those 3 are. I also have an amazon sword and some hygro polysperma. I only have 1 fake plant in there now. I want to get rid of that one and get a few plants along the back and get rid of the background.

I like plants but I prefer chiclids more. :) I'm currently stocking my tank with some fake nice looking plants. :) Nice looking plants though, I can never get my tank to look good with plants, I'm not exactly what you would call creative. :p

very nice plants! although is that anubias buried in the sand? if so it should be attached to rock or driftwood otherwise the rhizome will rot if buried (the rhizome is the lumpy bit at the bottom of the plant that the roots come out of incase you didnt know) :)

lol now ur talking ;)

The guy at my fish store told me to bury it only 1/3 in the sand. I have put a rock over the rooted area to keep it from floating up. He told me thats what he does, and he only grows anubias... he has over a hundred tanks, and has every species of the plant except three. I will deffinatley do some research and look into what you are saying for sure. Thanks for the heads up.

Heh, I got one fake plant in the tank.. A piece of driftwood and a couple caves.. Got to figure out what else to add lol.. Good luck with your plants they look healthy of course they could be new. :p

Nice plants, I like the grassy look of the last one. I have 2 tall fake plants in the left corner of my 30 gal. and a real one in the right corner. Then a small plant in the middle and 2 fake "grass" plants in the front. I just ordered some micro sword online and am planning to cover my gravel with it. :D

anubias is indeed a plant that needs water movement over the rhizome. The small roots can be buried in substrate, but the rhizome should be left in the open. If held to a rock or stone with a plastic tie, it will eventually attach itself with its roots.

with conditions, I bet you'll see some runners on your rhizomes soon.

is that val in the first pic plastic? If so: ewww!!

Yes the val is plastic. Its the last fake one I have. I nned to get something that will cover the back wall still. Dont worry....i hav no intentions of keeping it. In about 2 weeks it will be gone
