I'm replacing the plants in my cube - due to them being non-aquatic.

As such, all i'll be left with are a few of the marimo java fern ball thingies....

So, here's my plan:

Foreground:
Echinodorus Tennellus
or
Echinodorus quadricostatus var. ''magdalenensis''

Midground:
Not sure....

Background:
Ludwigia arcuata
Vallisneria nana

How does that sound? I'm not sure about midground plants, as I have a nice big rock taking up a lot of space in the tank. I might be tempted to try to encourage some java fern / anubias nana to grow on the rock. Thoughts?

Cheers,

Jee

How bigs the tank and what's it like, eg lighting, substrate, co2?

Sam

Tis the 12" PFK Nano with the basic light giving 2WPG.

Substrate is small black gravel substrate - 2-3mm in size. No substrate fertiliser.

Cheers,

Jee

I think you might struggle with the E. tennellus, what about dwarf or micro sagittaria? Also, even the nana valls variety will probably get to big for this tank, so you might want to look at other plants, perhaps Cryptocoryne wendtii might suit the size of tank.

Sam

Echinodorus Tennellus will probably struggle in your set up. Mine have had a month in an EI set up and are only just starting to look good.

Ludwigia Arcuata is a great looking plant and the small needle like leaf will suit a nano.

cheers guys..

As it were, I went to my LFS at lunch, and they had three tropica plants for £9

I will update soon
