Hi all,

Been a while since owning a tank, but we just got another. Luckily a LOT smaller than our old one. Its a fluval 240 roma.

Filled for over a week and just put plants in today. Water still a bit white/cloudy, but will hopefully clear in time.

I have 1.5 wpg, so will need CO2, what do you think?

Cant really get a good photo, too many reflections and I sold my good camera, but you can just kinda make it from this one.

hey ,
nice looking tank i like the rock formation and the tank is different to say the least :) ..... i'd prob add more plants to start off with .... fast growers to soak up any excess nitrates from the cycle :)

Hi,

I was trying to raise the back up with the rock front so the tank sat higher and give two levels to the aquariuml. It kind of worked but could have done with more gravel.

As for the plants, it was a 50 plant variety, theres a few bulbs burried too, but a lot of them are very small or single stems. I could have done with two packs in hinsight. Will see what happens.

Thanks for the comment.

Slightly better pic?

tank in tank

thanks for sharing :)

He he. I like it. It's fun. Oliver Knot does fun things like that. Coke bottles and such.

I'm moving this over to the journal section. Might as well update it and make it a journal proper.

ha tank in tank ha ha ha ha...ahem

what type of substrate do you have?

Just a different grade of black gravels and some small white ones.

well, then a good suggestion would be to pick up some root tabs from you lfs
to but under your swords and other root plants

thanks :D

I am using plant food, iron, trace elements, no CO2. Some plants have grown a lot and others are dissolving? surely it cant just be becase of CO2?

Depends, what plants are not doing well and what plants are?

well most things are ok, especially whats on the tank, I have cut and replanted that and thats all growing too.

The red plants are loosing some leaves and some colour, but are hanging in there.

The long thin leaf type plants are just dissolving away.

The swords and java fern seem to be doing ok.

I have a few bulbs in there, one has shot and it about 4 inchs already.

Sorry I dont know all the names, it was just a bundle 50 pack off ebay.

swords are starting to yellow eventhough dosing with all the ferts. But most other things seems ok. Will have to try and get a pic.

Video attached, everythings growing, bar a few plants. Floating plants are going crazy, going to have to take some out soon! You can see on the vid the leaves that are brown/yellow. I guess its just CO2 deficiency.

Video here

Does your all-purpose fertiliser dose macros? Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium?
