New plant tank

My mom and I have decided to split between a 2.5 gallon tank. She wants aquatic plants and I want crabs. so thats whats gonna happen.

Here is what we're gonna do. We gonna make it kinda like a beach. Some gravel, half underwater and half above water. There will be no filter. there will be some small crabs. Maybe 3 or 4. What type of plants will like this habitat and do I put em in the water side of the fry side? What are some ideas to make this plan work?

Oh, and where could I get the plants to launch this project?

well I would have said some bog plant but its kinda small for any plant since youre only going to use 1.75G of that for water..

I'm no plant expert but there is a list of plants and their habitats in the plant section at www.thegoldfishbowl.co.uk. I don't know where to get plants in the US though, www.java-plants.com might ship internationally.
