what is the usual activity of an oscar? I just introduced one to my tank today and he is just swimming to the top then floating to the bottom and laying on his side almost. Then back up to the top and all over again. Is he struggling or is this normal for this species? I want to get him back to pet store qucik if this is not normal. Please help.

sounds like he may be sulking at being moved, try turning out the light and seeing how he is in the morning,

Agreed, them settle down and get used to their new envionment and I'm sure they'll be fine in a couple of days.
If they still go through this process later on then it might be something you should look into futher.

New Oscars sulk for anywhere from a day to a couple weeks. Give him time and he will come around. Just dont overfeed as he probably wont eat much while he sulks. If he won't eat in front of you just give him a pellet and leave the room. If you peek your head around the corner you will probably see him eating.
