New Oscar

Hi. I just bought a new 2-3 inch oscar 5 days ago. He ate cichlid peletes and shirmp capsules on the second day. But until today did not eat a thing. Finaly i went out to get brine shrimp fed him and he ate like a pig. Now hes eating the food hes been snubbing for the past 4 days. Is it normal for them to act like that, or was it just that he didnt recognise what i was feeding him as food or something i cant think of. appreciate your opinions!

Stress can cause that for the first day or few. I always had that happen, but ate like pigs after their fasting.

Yes. Its normal for oscars to do that after for a few days.. The fish are very sensitive to any change in housing.. Water changes.. Etc.. My Oscars change moods when i introduce new fish or when the water is changed or if they are touched, shocked, or bothered in any way they usually just lie on the floor and do nothing.. After about a day they are in good shape.
