Hello
Just signed up today - have been reading a lot of posts. I will be getting an aquarium in the near future. I was an avid enthusiast as a teenager. However I had very limited finances. I read many articles during that time and was very devoted to the hobby.
Then Again about 20 years ago I bought a system put some Angel fish in and they multiplied beyound my wildest dreams. oh to have such an astounding success as a wide eyed teenage boy.
There was however a problem. I was in the US Coast Guard. I spent most of my time chasing Drug runners and illegal aliens in the Caribbean. My wife did not share my appreciation for aquaculture and I was not there to take care of problems. Then one day while I was at sea something went wrong and the darn tank leaked all over the living room floor while my wife was at work. She was not a happy camper when I returned from a 30 day deployment. I did not want her to have to be burdened with the tasks of taking care of it. She is very sensitive to the welfare of critters of all types. She has difficulty dealing with any living thing not being cared for properly. She also did not have the knowledge (or the desire to learn) needed to care for such pets as fish. So we got ride of the tank and have not had one since.
BUT NOW I AM RETIRED!!!!!!!
And I am going to get back into it. I will spend a lot of time reading and taking notes from willing fellow enthusiasts such as I have discovered here. A lot of new information has been discovered and shared since I first got involved in tropical fish 45 years ago.
Thank You For Your Willingness To Help, B)
