hello and good evening to everyone,i have just become a member of the forums,having been a fish keeper since 1973 (aquariums)this is the first site that i have joined,im hoping to make new friends in a wondeful hobby of fish keeping. regards to all..Den.

thank you brian i am looking forward to meeting new friends.well yes i guess i do have some years under my belt in fish keeping..although the hobby has not changed that much,equipment is better made and long lasting,but caring for the fish and basic tank management remains the same,i still find fish keeping one of the best hobbies anyone can get involved in.

Hi and welcome, you beet me by 5 years i started in 1980 keeping fish kept most things from Red Tail Cats to marines and now i keep Discus

I would agree with that Den, it is a very relaxing hobby, I have still a lot to learn but am getting there slowly, thanks to this forum, would be nice to see some pics of your tank, I think you will be an asset to the site........

thank you for your welcome ian,my very first tank was a 2ft angle iron tank..with internal box filter,with an old bakerlite type air pump..i had that tank for a while as a learning tank,and as time went on i moved on to a 3ft angle iron tank,i replaced the box filter in that with undergravel filters and a more powerful air pump. and things just got better.i was thinking about a marine tank a few years back but due to things taking a change for the worse i have now dropped the idea,discus are a lovely fish to keep and im sure your doing well with them i wish you all the best with them ian..all the best Den.

thank you brian,im just waiting for validation of my membership to TFF and then i will get more involved with the other topics on the site.i found one of the things a fish keeper needs is patience,i learned that years ago and it still applies i liked the look of this site brian and thats why i joined,i do hope to make many friends,im sure i can post pics of the tank soon..all the best DEN.
