Hi all,

Having recently found this forum after recieving my new Red Sea Max I thought I would rely on you guys for some advice as my questions have fallen on deaf ears with my dealer after I parted with my cash!

I've been watching the You tube videos for Tunze Wave Boxe, And the temptation was too strong and another £200.00 later I bought one. Now I've spent 4hrs trying to create the wave movement that I've been watching on the vidoes and I give up. Ive tried it all round the tank, moved rock and nothing. The water moves a couple of mm and that wave motion in the tank isnt happening. Is the Wave Box too powerfull for my little tank, Any advice?

Thanks

Boneski

Welcome to the Salty side :good:

I am afraid I can't help you with the wave box - the only real thing I could find was Wavebox“ - a patented wave generator for aquariums of 200 to 1200 litres (52 to 317 USgal.). ...

From reading this and another thread on TFF I would say your tank is too small - any chance you could dry it all off and send it back?

http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showto...p;#entry2180381 Victor's thread.

You could then maybe use a large powerhead as Victor is suggesting or even make your own that would be suitable for the tank as the boys suggest on the thread :good:

There is a great source of knowledge and info on TFF, we are a great community, just ask :good:

Hi,

I have heard that the wave boxes need a fair bit of fine tuning to get it right. So be patient and dont go out, you dont want a wet carpet. But as seffie said your tank may be a tad small

Agreed, a short cube tank like a redsea max isn't the best for trying to make a wave motion. IMO the "nano" tag on the Tunze Nano Wavebox is misleading as it's really more for midrange tanks in the 40-100g range that are at least 30-36" long. Creating a wave motion in a short tank like the redsea will require a very short period (aka a fast cycle of the pump) to try and make it work. Good luck.
