I thought I'd join a fish-forum since I just got my first aquarium of my own. My mother use to have one when I was from childhhod in Miami until I was around 17, maybe 18. My childhood sitters had an aquarium. Sometimes it was freshwater, sometimes salt. Mom would never mess with the saltwater tank setups.

As of now, I have a 46 gallon bow tank. It's freshwater. I only had time to get 2 Black Neon Tetras. I have a 200w Rena heater. I've never heard of the brandname, so I dunno if it's a good one or not. I also have a filter―the Penguin 200 Bio-Wheel by Marineland. Never heard of that brandname either, so I dunno if it's a good one. I'm guessing both accessories are good. I'm just use to what we had back in the day―the Tetra brandname. I guess they got that name from the fish.-_-

Anyway, I'll be buying more Tetras, black and rainbow, as well as other colorful and peaceful fish. I was gonna get the Black Knife Ghost, but they hide too much. That fish reminds me of the Scream mask. I wonder why? Well, I've gotta go eat a late dinner. It's midnight.

Thanks!

Thank you!

My tank's been filtering awhile, and I added some Prime to it. Funny thing is, my mother and the sitters never filtered their water before putting fish in when they got new tanks nor after water changes, yet they lived on―until old age; nor did they use dechlorinizer. I always thought Black Neon Tetras had a black-chrome look to them, but mine are like a teal with a black stripe along their sides. Still pretty though.

Thanks for the link!I use to have Cichlids a couple weeks ago, such as a pair of Tiger Oscars, a pair of Jack Dempseys, and one Electric Blue Ahli―and one Pleco. Problem was at the beginning they wouldn't eat for a couple days. The Dempseys & Oscars were tiny when I got them. I had to take the fish and tank back, which was 55 gallon,`cos I was told my rent would go up quite a bit for having to change the water all the time. I was gonna change it no more than every 2 weeks, which is equivelant to half a shower per week,`cos all I was gonna empty was 25% of the 46 gallons and fill it back up with new. So now I'll have to go bring my own water from somewhere else. It'll be a hassle, but it's okay.Besides, after I got the Dempseys, many people said it was a mistake, that they are tank-dominate, and they will fight the Oscars and the Ahli when they're all adults. No one said anything like that at the pet stores when I bought them. But now I've decided to just get colorful peaceful communty fish. The next ones different ones I wanna get are from Asia. They're tiny and called Blue something or something Blue. Can't remember their names. Only $1.79 each. Their dorsos and fins are very wavey Eventually I'll go see them again and tell you all what they are.

I still see my new posts are mixing in with the old ones. I dunno what to do to get posts in their own little places. Anyway, I just bought 4 more fish today―2 Glo-lite Tetras and 2 Long-finned Blue Danios. My Danios are blue, but none of them I see online are. I like mine better than what I see on the internet `cos they all look light brown or something. I now have 10, so I guess a few more of other kinds and I'll be set, and then work on the looks of the aquarium.

Thanks!
