This is my new setup just wondered what people thought and any ideas for planting etc. Ph is 7.6 at the moment, 25-26oC, hard water, have 2 x 25w T8 and intend to add 2 x 24 T5's into a vision 180

You could put some nice tall plants in the back like vallisneria, and maybe some java moss on the driftwood or rock to soften them up a bit. I'm not too up on plants, but I think those would work in harder water.

I like you setup so far though. :good:

cheers thanks, i had a tank when i was teenager, now im thirty I thought I would get another but this time I have alittle more money, the tank was second hand at £200 with filter and heater, the slate and a bag of cobbles came to £66, and I have like 80kilos of slate left and a whole bag of cobble plus the bog wood was fairly cheap so all in all saved quite a bit of money I think.

i really like your setup it looks very natrual. I think some java fern on the drift wood with the moss along with the previosly mentioned vallisneria in the back also maybe some cambomba for one side

looking really nice m8 im with the other some nice long flowing plants around the back would make it look much fuller and abit more stacked slate would just finish it off me thinks :)

I'd pop some Java Fern behind the bogwood (either side of the main, central part) and some more front middle, slightly to the left. But I love java fern, its the one plant I think looks good in every tank.

**Edit: And a black background would make the whole setup look alot more striking, especially at night.

I was wondering about black or blue?

Im not sure I can stack anymore :) i have more though

I also agree that adding some mosses and taller back ground plants iwll make it look better, also a background would make a huge difference!
