New Member Problem With My Filter

hi all
just joined now i have a small problem, i was given a tetratec 1200 external filter, set it up worked well for a while then started to leak water from the motor head so i brought a new sealing ring,but it still does it. anybody got any ideas as its driving me potty
ps this is my second filter the main filter is a rena xp3

lubricate the o ring with vaseline. If that dosent work, contact tetra customer services or the place you bought it from and demand a new unit.

I agree, must be a faulty unit.

would that be the o ring you are talking about?

yep, if the o-ring is twisting it might not be providing a proper seal. It happens more to rectangular o-rings but the round ones can cause problems too. Vaseline (as suggested by the others) should help prevent this from happening.
The other possibility is the o-ring isn't fitted into the right spot. If it leaks really badly then this could be the cause.
