I'm assuming maybe it's the beginning stages of Ich...I'm treating the entire tank already (as of an hour ago or so) and did about a 30% water change already. My new betta has only been in the 10 gallon for maybe 2 days and I haven't noticed him scratching on things until tonight (although he is only doing it every few minutes, if that and maybe I just didn't notice it before). A few of my other fish have Ich and it seems to be spreading very quickly!!! I would assume he has it to but I don't see any white spots or anything abnormal..and the ones that do have spots aren't acting itchy, they seem ok behavior wise.

Any ideas?

So i take it this betta was introduced while your other fish have ich??? I'd get him out pronto and put him into an isolation tank before he becomes infected. In his isolation though I would treat him just to make sure that he does not get anything of the disease, since it does spread easily.

I actually added him and then noticed it maybe a day later. I didn't know the others had ich until after he had been in there. I went ahead and treated the entire tank yesterday evening so I figured it would be best to keep him in there since they are all being treated anyway (plus, I have an adjustable heater in that tank, and moved the temp up some). If I move him into one of the the 2.5 gallon tanks the heater only goes up to about 75 or so and no filtration. Seems like he would be better in the larger tank that's being treated and higher temps, with filter and all that. But if you think it's more serious than ich I am willing to move him.

I'd say its the ich, leave him in, you do need to treat the entire tank due to how the ich parasite lives.

Nope, Leave him in then. I was not sure how long any of the others had ich. But now the whole tank will be treated. So your doing the right thing!!
