I got myself a large bit of wood today so thought I would get a few pics before the water turns brown.

And a video ive only just come out of the tank so everything is still sulking lol.

nice , did you soak the wood??? i bought a large peice once , never soaked it but it never turned my water brown

Nah I didnt soak it I just put it in I have loads of polyfilter in there that should soak up the tannins ill have to wait and see.

just watched the vid and that is definately a gator gar you got rid of
the shape,pattern and eye is all different from the spotted

I am wondering if when i get polyfilter if it will soak up the tannins

I've had stained water for over 6 months, even with 30% w/c weekly! But i dont mind, i think it suits the tank (bog wood and parrots, boo hiss!)

so i am not bothered if i lose the tannins or not, just wondered

Nah polyfilter doesnt take out tannins mate.
