I love your thinking Meggie! I'm getting one rescue tomorrow, bringing me to 7. Then the baby I'll someday get, 8. I think I may get two more males for my room!

There is a pet shop near me that takes absolutely terrible care of their fish, every time i go at least half their bettas are dead and i always want to save the good ones but i can't afford that many tanks so sad. i don't buy fish from there, but they do have a wider range of aquarium supplies than my regular shop. i wish there were laws about fish treatment. good on your sister, Meggie, for saving that baby.

I have another extra 2 gallon...maybe next time I see another baby I will grab that one too

Edit: mrcashew, I know! I hate that! I'm not naming stores but many pet stores around here take horrible care of the fish! One that I went to today I saw a guppy barely alive just floating around in the current of the tank...sick/diseased fish that weren't being quarantined...I makes me feel so bad for the fish and makes me just want to buy more tanks to rescue them alllllllll
