New Lighting

Hi all

Im starting to plan my first marine setup and i want to get the lighting bought and out of the way.
The tank im upgrading is the rekord 96 which i beleive is documented as 81cm x 31cm x 46cm.

I like the look of the arcadia lighting that is set on brackets above the tank.

Can anyone give me some kind of guidance on what i should be looking for or recommend a nice lighting setup.
I'd prefer the lighting to be attached to the tank rather than suspended from the ceiling above the tank.

Im not wanting to have the most light loving corals, but i would like to have a few coral options open to me and not be too restricted.

i-bars from arcadia are good things if you ask me, they offer decent lighting for a decent price

if you dont want seriously light loving corals or inverts then you can go with a power compact or T5 set which will give you good bright lighting and will be what the corals are looking for.

If budget isnt a problem they do do halides on legs that can go over the tank, obviously they are not cheap though

Ive just been looking at the arcadia overtank luminaires.

I was thinking maybe a 2 or 4 tube T5or T8?
Do you think getting any of the above would give me plenty of options in the future?

if you do go for one of those deffinatly go for the T5 varient! it may cost you a tad more but well worth it in the long run! you will be able to keep alot more stuff under this lighting compared to the T8 so if you do wanna try some corals and other inverts in the future you can under this lighting

Is it worth going that bit further for the 4 x bulb rather than the 2 x bulb?

again if you go for the more expensive in the first place it will give you more flexability in the future with what you can put in your tank and more importantly you wont have to upgrade in the future costing you more dollars!
