i have a 10 gallon tank that im going to plant and i just picked up a new light from my lfs and was wondering if this will get the job done. It's a Aqua-glo / 18,000K / 14 Watts / T8 .

Should be fine, alhtough it'll really depend on what else you're going to do for the plants? I.e. you gonna add CO2, ferts, etc, if not then the 1.5WPG that tube will give you should be ok for undemanding plants like java fern.

You are prbably going to need more light if you start adding CO2, ferts and want to keep plants like glosso.

Hope this helps

Sam

Are you sure this lamp is for plants? @18000k this lamp is probably atinic and only suitable for marine tanks, you want a light of full spectrum somewhere around 6500k.

It says Ideal for FW Aquaruims and planted tanks.....

im not sure it was the cheapest one there at $5.
