I checked out a new store in Houston yesterday, well new to me anyway and it was huge with several "exotic" plecos. I was so close to buying a gold spot pleco for 19.99 or a tiger pleco for 19.99 until I looked around some more.
You see, in there large display tanks they had some really big golden spot plecos, and some royal plecos all around 6" in size. I don't have the space for one that big so I had to pass....
My point here is if you plan on keeping your fish alive they will grow so plan accordingly. It's like when you buy a new house and you are doing all this nice new landscaping and you plant a nice 8' tree 6' from your house......they grow!
