Hello all,

I recently purchased a Marineland Aquatic Life led lighting system and love the affect it has on my plants (beginner type plants) but have noticed an increase in water temperature by about 3 degrees.
.
Being new at this at first I thought it was a heater issue and it was running too hot but when I touched it I found it to be cool and the blue light that signals the unit is heating was not on.

Then the lighbulb went off in my head and I figured it had to be the new led system since that was the only thing that has changed.

How do I correct this issue?

Thanks for reading and hope you can post with some suggestions

Move the lights further from the surface of the water or install a fan to blow air onto the surface of the water.

If they are inside a hood putting extra vents in may help as well.

I've raised the light fixture an inch off the tank rim (all I could rig at the moment) but now I'm being blinded by the glare! Lol! is there a fan you would suggest? I can mount something on the wall behind the tank... thank you!

Any desktop fan will do, preferably with speed settings but not essential, or a clip on in-car type.

The more DIY capable people usually use 12v computer fans built into the hood, etc.
