New Here... Not To Fishkeeping

Hello,
Jaid here. I'm not a newbie, just new to this forum.
I suffer from MTS. I lost all my tanks {and everything else} to Hurricane Katrina. I'm slowly getting them back up and running.
I have relocated to Illinois because my son wanted to see snow and go sledding. We now realize that was a mistake. It's REALLY REALLY COLD HERE!!! We should have moved to the desert!
I have kept fish {who am I kidding, they keep me} for 30 years, off and on. Steady for the last 10, not counting the 4 month hiatus while we moved and refurnished our place.
I keep freshwater tanks, I'd love to go salt but can't work up the courage.
The up side of losing all my tanks {It really is sad to lose all those fish} is starting over, part of my MTS is that I love to start new tanks! Planning and researching is very enjoyable for me. So, I'm really excited now that I am cycling two tanks at the same time. A challenge, but fun. My other problem with MTS is going to the lfs and looking in the tanks and saying "Oooohhh, I want that!" Overcrowding ensues, new tank must be acquired!

YEAAAA SNOW Love it-yep sure is cold tho....you could move to England where it rains 5 months a year

Welcome! Sorry to hear about your fish and your home. I have been in the same situation of course not as extreme. I also live in IL and it sure is cold! Welcome to the forum let us know how everything goes!!!
