Hi Guys ,
My Name is Dave.
I am relatively new to fish keeping.
I have 2 fish tanks.
One with 6 High Fin Paroon Sharks , 3 Silver dollars , 1 Blood parrot , 1 Savanni cichlid and one Arowana

The other with 2 Angel fish , 1 Elephant fish and a Saddled Bichir Dinosaur Fish.

Any comments or questions welcome :)

Chat soon Hopefully :)

Dave

How big are your tanks, Dave? And how long have they been set up?

questions ; What size tanks?
have you any pictures?

how is it keeping 6 fish that can easily reach 50 inches in captivity which is totally unsuitable for them, and which are, as i believe, actually illegal to own.

There not illegal at all. And it feels great :) they are just 4 inches small now and i have many people who want them when they grow to big for my tank.

so you have someone who owns a river..

although they will most likely die by the time they reach a big enough size for you to warrant giving them away. how ridiculous.

set up now over a year and one is 1200 litre , the other is 120 litre.

Thats nice. Well we will see in a couple of years.

yeah a couple of years, when they all die and you think they have had a good life.

they can live for 15-20 years in the right conditions.

1200 litres is not enough. end of.

Ok tell you what , il get rid of them and get some guppys for 1200 litre tank , that make you happy? or is 1200 litres not big enough for guppys??? mmmm probably not :p

I have to say, I agree with hanny. There just aren't many people who can house fish of that size properly; even public aquaria will very likely no longer take them; honestly, how many people do you know that can keep shoals of five foot fish?

There are so many interesting and colourful fish you could keep, I can't help feeling it is a bit irresponsible to be encouraging the trade in these fish by buying them.

I'm sorry, but that's just silly. There are literally thousands of species, larger than guppies and smaller than paroons, that would be very happy in a 1200l tank;

1200 litres would make a lovely south american biotope with hundreds of cories and lots of angelfish. just my opinion, although thats probably not exciting enough for you is it.

look, your first post was one saying whow you had all these huge fish, quite obviously done to raise hackles, so im just not feeding trolls anymore.
