hi all. I have some new growth turning yellowish. It's a not-very-well-controlled 5 gallon tank with varoius plants. Lately I've noticed the new growth turning either yellowish or clear (without seeming to die though). Does anyone offhand know what this could be? I realized I've forgotten about the iron-enriched ferts when I add fertilizer (once every week or two weeks...I'm not a hardcore planted tank person).

If ayone knows what I could do to fix the yellowing growth before the plants die, I'm willing to do it.

Could it be that the plants are just using up the ferts too quickly between dosings? It's quite densely planted and everything is doing well overall except for the few that are turning yellow.

Thanks,

-Ian

PS I'm new to posting at the plant section, but I love reading all the planted tank journals :)

exactly what I was thinking. I'll try increasing the dose of the iron fertilizer I have...thanks

IME could be either Fe (iron), K (potassium) or Mg (magnesium). Mg most common in very soft water.

What's your growth rate like? Do you have high light and CO2 injection? I could be a simple lack of light causing yellowing, but doubtful if you've had success until now.
