I completely hated the gravel in my 20g flat hexagon, but i got it free, so i couldnt complain too much. But i never had money to replace it ( some 20 dollars to do it), but at walmart i found some gravel for 10 dolalrs ( 25 pounds of gravel!) and i ran with it and took all the old gravel and and put it in a bucket:

Took a pic of the tank barren:

First, off, i know that tank looks dirty. I cant help it. I use a algea pad, but there is a indo on the opposite side of the room, and that means ALOT of algae, so thanks for the nice comments on how dirty it is.

Next, Paul _ 219 do you even read before you post? I always see the same reply, " Nice, looks g8 ". But this it appears that you saw the last pic of the multi-color gravel, and assumed it was my new gravel. Am i right? Especially sine you said ' Thats a very bad gravel, i hate such colors" shows that you didnt read the post. Because you said ' colors' as in pluaral, more than one, and the new gravel is only ONE( base color), not every color in the rainbow. Dont make a rude comment if you dont even take the time to read the post.

  I've noticed this too!! makes you wonder whats the point in being on a forum!

Much better looking than the multi-colour/puke couloured gravel!! A plain black background and some plants to break it up a little and it would be a great little tank :good:

Thanks. I cant find a place that sells backrounds cheap enough. The see through back thing has never botherd me, im used to it. Im my Oppinion, i think he is just trying to get his post count up................

it looks nice...i like how its not just a regular rectangle tank. sure your tank needs a little fixing up but isnt that what this hobbys about?? also...i see you live in the midwest...and i know petsmart sells common backgrounds for 2 dollars a foot. leaving it clear is ok but a background will help it look a little better.

watcha thinking about for stock? just the endlers or guppies? i cant tell which is in there..i think it would make a nice planted angel tank

Thanks. I got some new pics after the dust had setteld( i used a 3.2 megapixel camera for the earlier shots, this one is a 7.2):

Close up, i really need to clean the glass

Right now, i have guppies in there, i am selling them next week( along with other guppies in a 30g). I ahve 2 angels in another 30g aswell. I dont do planted tanks, i cant afford the really good lights, or the plants, or the fertilizers. I might look into it once i get a job. I will look into the backrounds at Petsmart ASAP. I always thought they were mroe expensive than that, but i never botherd to look.

Isnt it amazing how some nicer gravel can make a tank look so much better and a decent camara can make one look cleaner I think your tank looks natural and well. Personly I would find some rustic looking stone just to finish it off but looks well as is.

You can try some plant bulbs. I bought some aponogeton bulbs from petsmart for only $3.50 and about half of them sprouted and grew into some pretty nice plants that filled up my tank. I fyou dont have much money, you could always jsut try some too see if they grow. They grow pretty well in my tank withoout a nice light and fertilizers...I only have a standard flourescent lighbulb. One of the plants even had some seeds that sprouted into little plantlets in the tank :)
