i have just gotten 3 new girls (and 2 boys) from yeevia. (YAY!) i was planning to put them in my female tank, but i think they are going to be too small to stand up to the girls that live there already. i had planned to do a major rearranging and add the new girls first, to help them out. do you think this is a good idea? i will be there to monitor their behavior.

oh yeah, i will post pics ASAP!

I have a couple girls that are much larger than the others and they seem to get on fine. I think you could try putting them together and just keep an eye on them

Take everybody out, rearrange the tank drastically, and then add the new girls first, and you should be all right. Just keep an eye on them in case any major trouble develops, but do expect them to quarrel a little bit. :)

I had the same issue last week and luckily bettamomma resolved it as all I could do was freak out and say what do i do what do i do!lol.... do exactly what Kiarra said. I have had no problem with my girls since getting them all out rearranging then putting them back in.

so my plan is to take all the girls out, re- arrange the tank (and vacuum the sand while i'm at it) then add the newbies and reintroduce the current residents a little after that.

the new girls are 1/2 the size of my other girls! big mama is like 3x their size!

well, five minutes into the introduction, and it seems to be going well. i think the "big girls" think the 3 new little ones are danios (they live with 4 danios).

i'll keep an eye out for the next hour or so (if i can stay awake). i did a major cleaning and overhaul of the tank tonight. it took forever, i spilled water everywhere (a la bettamomma's last adventure thread, the vacuum hose is just too short).

BUT, i am happy with the way it looks now! i just need to get my pada cories healthy and back in there and a few more plants and it will be PERFECT!!

Wou! you already clean up the tank and introduce the babies already? Wou. I am still doubt you can put all the females together. Put more live plant and it will be better. If anything happen, they still know where to hide. LOL

the big girls really don't seem to be bothering the little girls at all. the little girls like to sleep late though! as soonas i turned on the tank light. the original girls are all clamoring for food, and now abobut 20 minutes later, the are starting to peek their eyes out from their sleeping spots!

on a sidenote, i could not find the red boy anywhere this morning, not in the tank, not out of the tank, no where! then i lifted the plant up and somehow he was wedged under it and the river stones inhis tank!!! he is fine though, thank god! he is absolutely gorgeous!

I have one little girl who is really tiny. She's NEVER grown in the several months I've had her. She's at the most 1/3 the size of everyone else, but she acts like she's twice as big as everyone else. I think your little girls will do just fine - it's not really how big they are that seems to count, it's how mighty they act. Personalities play a big part of it too.

Some of them may be little, but they're mighty!

I can't wait to see pics!

It sounds great to hear that the females are co operate all together. Just keep an eye until a week. :) How that red male butterfly got stuck in the stone I really have no clue? Play too much? LOL
