Aww she is cute!! Mine died yesterday, only got her last sunday. I think I'm jinxed.

Ooh, or possibly a young male splenden. His anal fin is very pointy and i cant clearly see an ovipositer in that picture

ok..she looked so stressed I moved her so she could see Brodie my new male who hasnt flared yet. Within seconds her colour has come back and her stripes are the other way! Shall I leave her in view of the other bettas? I could always put her next to my goldfish for company.

dont look like the same fish..looks like the one I picked in the shop now!

she looks like a little VT girlie, but i'm not so good with IDing tail types on girlies.

It does look like an imbellis because of the spots on the dorsal, but if you look closely at the tail it looks like it has the beginnings of what seem to be(dang cant think of the right term) what crowntails have. But do imbellis color up blue?

imbellis tails are a lot rounder than that

i am suspicious about the pointyness of her anal fin though. it is VERY pointy.

aw bless her. she is so small. Do males do stress bars then? There were 3 that were really coloured in the tank and were very dominant.They also had really long fins (near front cant remember what they are called) The chap who was serving me was very knowledgeable about types, and he said they were imported and they dont usually make mistakes. They were super fish, there seems to have been lots of new bettas in my area at the moment. Apart from my nearest lfs who has still got 2 blue vts, red dragon, and a lavender hm pk! They are so pricey though. I paid £2.65 for the girl and £3.50 for the cts in the week. OMG no wonder I havent any money Thanks for all your interest in Humbug.

She looks very like the girls I bought a couple of days ago. Out of 6, only 3 seem to have settled ok. You are very lucky your lfs has anything other than vt's though. Perhaps I should make a trip up to Northampton, it's not too far!

looks like a little vt girlie to me b/c that is what they mostly have at the pet stores...u would be lucky if they had some imbellis for sale but i do bekieve that is a vt
