Just woke to three new frys this morning. Not sure if there is anymore. I scraped the bottom of the aquarium and checked the hiding places. I don't know what kind they are, either mollies or swordtails. I have them in a nursery. How long can I keep them in there? Do they NEED to be in a separate tank to prosper? Just starting out this week, and have had offspring already. Not sure if DH would allow for another tank to keep the offspring in. If I would get a 10 gallon tank (already have a 30 gallon) what else do I need in order to help all the frys to prosper? (filters, lights, etc)

Also I read in this forum NOT to put mollies and swordtails in the birthing tank. Do we have to wait until the frys are born and catch them to put them in the nursery? Any suggestions?

I just leave the fry in the tank with the parents.. put lots of plants in the tank so they have places to hide... plants on the surface, plants on the gravel, and plants everywhere in between..

It's too stressful to move a pregnant fish before it is going to give birth.. can often lead to stillborns.. You can remove the fry if you want.. your other tank will need a filter, heater, and lights.
