MY lil guppy finally gave birth to about 20 - 30 fry :hyper: . Poor gal I can't believe all those lil fry were inside her . They're pretty big! She's still got a few to go by the looks of things.

I don't have a seperate tank to put them in so there going to have to fight it out in the main tank. The other fish (all guppies) don't seem in the slightest bit interested in the new tank mates? The fry are swimming around pretty much in the open and don't seem that afraid? I'm guessing that about 30 - 50% will survive and grow which is kinda cool though I only have a 13Gal tank so may have to give some away :(

Still, for my first tropical tank its all going really well :good:

Very cool, congrats! one thing you can do to prevent them from being dinner, is to take a tank divider and place it to one side of the tank, and put the fry inside of there. Otherwise, just make sure your tank is heavily planted.

Thanks all :D

Still got loads of fry this morning. My tank has a few live plants in there but there not fully grown. The fry are out in the open near the top at the moment and don't seem to be hiding as much as I expected. The other fish arn't interested in them at them anyway and the fry are suprisingly nippy when they need to be. I was a little concerned about them being sucked into the filter but they seem to be aware of it and don't go too close. They ate the crushed up flake I put in this morning but I think I'll go to my lfs and get some better quality food.
