Fish Crazy
Before I went to bed last night, I discovered that it was Fryday! I'm not sure how many fry were dropped, but I only found four. I know there was at least one more because I saw it get eaten this morning, poor baby!
I had put the four remaining ones in the breeder net. I wanted to put the female that was dropping them in the net, but I was never able to see any of the females dropping them so I wasn't sure which one it was. I'm still not sure this morning! How do I tell which one dropped the fry? The ones I thought were pregnant, still look pregnant to me, so I suspect it may have been one of the ones with the naturally dark gravid spot. The spots are still dark, and I can't tell if any of them look thinner. Is there any way to tell?
Also, I have a 5 gallon fry tank containing fry that are about 2 weeks old. If I add the four new fry to the fry tank, will the others eat them? The new ones look so tiny, but I'm not sure if they are tiny enough to be eaten by the older fry. Have any of you put new fry in with older fry? If so, how did it go? I really would like to keep the four new fry alive so I can see what they will look like.
