i have just brought a new tank on a wim  it a Rekord 120 and it's Dimension: 101 x 31 x 46cm. i was thinkof putting angle fish in but i have read that they need a deeper tank? is this right? if this is correct can any one surgest what else i could put in this tank. there's just too many nice fish i'm like a kid in a sweet shop

Well i got a 120 ltr.. i got 8 Tetra's (5 Black and 3 Blue) 4 Pintail Platys 1 Guppy (His friends got eaten after having a very aggressive 3 spotted Gourami) 2 Peppered, 2 Albino and 2 Bronze Corydora's and a Gibbicep.. which im taking back today to get a Bristlenose :)

I'm like that too, I never know what to buy. In my experience, so far in 7 years, my favourite fish are panda corys - get a few, they are sooo cute together, bristlenose and gibbiceps are fab but the gibs get big, jumbo congo tetra are also great, harlequins are very hardy and shoal beautifully, so do danios and are very hardy and fun to watch.
I would avoid cardinal or neon tetra, they are weak for a beginner, angel fish too are weak imo.

Tank is a little small for angels unfortunately...they do get quite big compared to how small they are when sold.

Color theme: Yellow and blue (with a hint of red)
Lemon Tetras Hyphessobrycon Pulchripinnis (minimum group size: 6+)
Blue Danios Brachydanio kerri (minimum group size: 6+)
Bolivian Ram Microgeophagus altispinosa (pair)

Now that would be a gorgeous tank, especially with live plants.

i do plan to put some live plants in there, not sure what plants either. the only thing i know thats is going in there for sure is black gravel and water. other than that i'm about as much use as jelly up a wall. :S.

thanks for all your comments, once i get this tank up and running i will keep you all posted on how it's going and what i put init.
