Jammy so and so that jd is
Warning with that oscar, he has the exact same marking just under his dorsal fin as Chops, looks like a G on its side, he could be related  as for tank size is the 14" the width? you would be ok for a while, but may give him turning problems once he gets bigger.

thats what i thought it is quite thin how long could i keep it in there?

If it is half the character chops is i will be well happy!

Personally once he/she starts to get about 8" I would think of a wider tank and at 4" now you could be looking at him/her being 8" in about 4-6 months. I measured Chops today he is now 7" nose to tail, he was only 5" when I got him, I suppose he would be 7 1/2" if his face wasnt squashed

but his face does look cool!

It does make him look so sweet, its why he is so easily forgiven for his devilment!!

Why dont you put the oscar with the jd?

i was gonna try the jd in my big tank with my sev and gt qand see how that goes first and if it dosnt work...

or do you mean put both in the 650l?

Seems an ok idea to me then if someone doesnt work out move them to the 350 :good:

Sorry yes ment put the JD & oscar in the 650 with the others, might have to watch the GT, it might work out. Trouble is with cichlids you never know!

ok ill try that and see how it goes. the jd is a good 2"bigger than the sev and gt and the oscar is about the same size as them so im just worried how it will change the pecking order in the tank at the min it is sev-gt-firemouth

Watch for the red spot & oscar, I have had an incident with a red spot not getting on with oscars.

Good suggestion Star. Defo worth a go trying both the oscar and JD in the 650. Might well work out fine. If not, you have the 350 to put the troublemakers in (maybe even just temporarily, to take away their territoriality about the 650).

Im Glad they could go in the 650 i just thought it might be too much in one tank?

Im just waiting for a reply with an address to go and colect them! :hyper:

well they are both in and and not the slightest bit shy!everyone seems to be playing nicely at the moment

they dwarf my sev and gt i think the jd is more like 7-8" and the oscar about5-6"

The gt seems a little more humble than he did

ill try and get some pics
