hi all
yesterday i purchased some new fish i asked for two female swordtails got home and discovered i had a male and a female and i also bought a krib
my rtbs has been a big bully (hes still my fave fish) so hoped the krib would knock him into line a bit and so far the krib has been doing just that
however i haave a backup plan :shifty: if the rtbs continues to be a menace i shall probably buy a 16 us gallon biorb and make the rtbs live alone in that

Red Tailed Black Sharks should be in a 40G minimum.

From the sounds of things, what you are experiencing is not out of the ordinary and buying 1 other aggressive fish will not change the behaviour of a RTBS, who now just has another territorial fish to compete with.

What else is in your tank and how big is it?

Do you have plenty of hiding places (caves etc) in the tank?

Hmmm, that combination of fish in that sized tank and you are just looking for trouble...

firstly, your tank is a bit crowded.

Your RTBS will continue to be agressive. It is their nature. They are territorial.

Kribs are territorial. And keeping one on his own (i.e. male without female), you just won't ever see him at his best.

in my experience, kribs do not like dwarf gouramis.

khuli like to be in groups. most loaches do, and polka dots should be min 3.

harlequins should be in groups of 6 or more.

adf.... probably fish food soon.

swordtails should be one male to several females, or the females get harassed to death

firstly my adf has had no trouble my shark has calmed down a bit i have had personal help from a fish club my grandad fishkeeper and i am by no means a newbie
i am not looking for an argument here

Then your grandad and the fish club should know better.... but I am not looking for an argument either, so I will wish your fish the best of luck and be done.

When you post, expect advice. I agree with chrismr about the numbers/ratios when to comes to the fish though I don't recall what size tank you have. Your fish and frog may appear to be doing 'alright' but they should be doing more than just 'ok' for you to be happy with your set-up - IMO anyway.
