New Fish - Very Shy

Yesterday I added 3 new fish to my 20 gallon tank, 2 x female platies and 1 x small plec.

One of the platies hid instantly after being introduced to the tank, in the plants, she hasn't come out all, I know that my male platy already in the tank, introduced himself to her quite quickly, ( there is now 1 x male and 3 females) but should this have made her hide. The other platy i put in yeserday is fine.

How long shall her give her to come out as I can't see her to see whats wrong, but don't want to really frighten her any more than she already is.

some are just more shy than others,
if shes got places to hide thats great, i had a platy hide for a week, so try not to worry

ok, thanks. it is worrying though, i think i am paranoid, i have had that many disasters, but it is nice to hear that its normal.

Yeah, it's like a kid in a new school. Give it time.

hunger will force her out and when she discovers nothing bad is going to hurt her she should feel more confident

Yeah, don't worry. The other fish should act like dither fish to her too! She sees them swimming and not being harmed and learns it is safe. I'd say within 2-3 days she should be out and about! If not a day or less!
