New Fish Tank Questions

I just bought a 46 gallon tank. The store I purchased the tank from set me up with a Water Filter system as oppossed to a Water Pump system. Do these items perfrom the same function ? My concern is I need a pump also to oxygenate the water...? Does the filter system perfrom the oxygenation ? Thanks in advance...

In answer to your question.....

The filter on your tank, as long as it's moving the water surface around good will perform the same function as a "water pump".

When you refer to a "water pump" I am assuming you mean an air pump, correct?? If this is so the above holds true.
