Is this a good fish tank and what do you think of the internal filter keep or upgrade to external or any another tanks that are 121 ish long that's all I can get in lengh wise and ned spmething etween 300' litres or more cheers

take out the internal and swap it for an external :) These are nice tank, I have 12 different juwel tanks 3 rio 300d's. Mine are the older ones with the straight brace bar, these are a pain for snapping and stretching, my advice go for the newer model with the solid curved brace bar. The other downfall with the juwel tanks is the lighting system, these are notorious for the balast blowing and really difficult to change.

Ok cheers I will ask my Lfs if they can get me a new version and how would I go about removing the internal filter because they are siliconed in arnt they cheers

They are really easy to remove, as they are only held on with four blobs of black silicone. Use a sharp thin knife with a long blade and it slices out easily. A word of advice though if you have to twist the blade to help prize it off make sure you twist the sharp side towards the filter and not the glass, so you avoid the risk of scratching the tank.

If your buying new then it should be the new style brace bar :)

Ok cheers any filter recommendations you guys are a great help cheers

Aww and will I hve to modify the tank for the external pipes cheers

What do you think of a aqua manta Efx 1500u filter cheers

I have 2 tetratec ex1200's on my rio 400. Best filters iv had and iv had an fx5. They are good filters but are huge, hideous looking and well overpriced IMO. I bought my 2 tetratecs for less than the price of a single fx5 and overall I find the tetratecs better. As for juwel tanks iv had a rio 125, rio 180, vision 180 and vision 260 and now the new type rio 400 and iv never had a single problem with any of them. Very good tanks. If juwel made a tank bigger than the rio 400 and vision 450 then I'd definitely buy it.

Also avoid any filters with a built in UV light. The way I see them is just an unwanted added expense on your electricity bill. Iv had 1 before and it did next to nothing and was notorious for breaking.
