My tank has space for one or two more fish depending on size and im looking for ideas on what else I could put in there.

I have recently had to replace the tank after suffering a crack to the old one so it will be a few weeks before I actually add any fish

I currently have 3 corydoras, 2 white clouds and a pearl danio
The clouds and danio are all small fish with the corys being at least twice their size.

What im looking for is a pair of smallish colourful fish about the same size as a corydora catfish that wont mind being on their own. Must be peaceful fish who preferable populate the top to middle of the tank as not to disturb the corys at the bottom :)

Any suggestions ?

I previously had a small shoal of Zebra Danios in the tank (prior to adding the corydoras) but I dont think they liked being in my sized tank as they couldnt dart around as much as they would have liked

The tank is approx 6 US gallon if my sums are right.
Tank temperature is kept at 24 degrees but can increase a little if need be.

Would a Betta work?

I know they can be territorial, but nothing there that seems to be a threat from what I've read and they are colourful and solitary, it would also be kinder than the small jars they get stuck in.

No doubt I'll get corrected though ;)

Hmmm interesting idea :)

Would be an ideal fish for what I want, what size do they generally grow to ?

Ive never really looked at bettas before so knew nothing about keeping them in jars

Hmmm ... 6 gallon ... I'm almost tempted to look into one of the smaller gouramis .... trying to envisage a 6 gallon tank's dimentions though.

Would a pair of Female Guppys be happy enough on their own ?

Ive seen some nice ones at LFS with bright yellow tails which I really like

I thought white clouds and danios are better kept in larger groups? Maybe you can add more of those in your tank.

Guppies are better in trios.
