New Fish Keeper

hi every one,
im gonna be on here a lot!
my partner suggested we get a fish tank as it had been his secret longing for a while.i resisted but gave in on a trip to andys aquatics -birkenhead-brilliant shop by the way.
i have always been an animal lover but more of the furry kind!
but now my dog sits looking longingly up at me while i am gazing into the fish tank wondering why i am not playing ball!
to say i am hooked is an understatement.i am learning every day,by trial and error.
but i have loads of questions too.
i have loads of babies[fish]-i dont know what type they are and more importantley-what the hell do i do with them??
i am gonna end up buying loads of tanks!!!!

Hey abi welcome to the forum. Pretty new here myself. just wondering did you cycle your tank (im assuming its tropical) and u really need to know what kinds of fish u have and how big they will grow and whether they are compatable. BEleive me u dont wanna make those kinds of mistakes ( i learnt the hard way )

Yeah u need to do a few things now that u've joined,research all your fish so u can cater to them (set the tank up at the right temp and decor) and also compatability issues,also im assuming u havent cycled the tank? so u are probably in a fish in cycle (cycling the tank is continuously adding liquid ammonia to mature the filter over the course of about 6 weeks so simply adding some chemical from the fish shop on day 1 is no good)
