I went to our local Maidenshead yesterday and picked up these cuties. I did look at their names, but just can't remember what they were. I meant to write them down, but with 3 kids and a packed LFS, just forgot.

I got 6 of each and they are just too cute. They're both about 3-4cm long, not big and have the smallest mouths.

First up, the little silver guys, they have a blue/black stripe and are just too friendly. They're mid swimmers.

The other guys are a yellow with iridescent blue eyes, I was able to sex a few earlier, when the male was flagging 2 females. They were in a tank with galaxy rasboras. They seem to be top swimmers and adore microworms.

Sorry the pics aren't the best quality, they are quick little things, and dart around. They're currently in a planted 4 foot with 3 clown loaches, 2 L134's and small group of mid sized panda cory babies. They are very active and very cute.

Anyone got an idea what they are??

Thanks
:D

Aplocheilichthy normani for the second one? Otherwise known as Norman's lampeye.

Thanks Fella

Having seen that name, I remember seeing it at the LFS now.

Anyone know what the others are??

gold tetra Hemigrammus rodwayi

the second ones look more like Gertrudes Rainbowfish Pseudomugil gertrudae to me

i presume it was the derby maidenhead you went to as i saw the second fish with the rasboras when i went,
and i forgot the names alwell lol

Yes, it was the Derby Maidenshead. Those rasboras were gorgeous too, but I fell in love with the others, so got them instead.

Thanks all for the replies. Thanks Wolf, although I thought they were what Fella said he thought they were. I have looked at more pics and they def look like the rainbows. And thanks for the ID on the tetras too.

I have to say, these are the cutest mid and top swimming fish I've ever had. I am more of a bottom dweller fan, loving the cories and plecs, but these little guys have definitely won me over.

:good:
