New Fish Guy Need Help With New Tank

Hey everyone im new to the whole fish tank aquarium thing. I am about to purchase a fish tank around maybe 30 gallons. I was wondering ifanyone could give me a few pointers on what to buy for it and how much it would cost to get it running. I just need help on the essential thigns to get the tank ready for fish life. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks -Bobby

Thanks well this looks to be an awesome forum and im looking forward to getting involved. I chose to set up my 10 gallon tnak yesterday and am now circulating it and the temperature is getting up. But as always i have another question. What kind of fish should i look at getting? I want some pretty vivid colors but i am not looking in spending too much on them for i am just new at this. Any suggestions?

What kind of fish should i look at getting?

Here is a LINK for recommended fish. However you could also have zebra danio's, Platties, Swordtails, Mollies, Guppies. There are lots of little kinds around. Check out your LFS and see what is avaliable, then research them to see what would do well in your tank.
