Okay, I haven't posted any pictures in a while, but I have some new fish.

First up, one of my favorite shots, is three of my four corydoras cat fish. One of my precious new fishies is a Julii corydoras, which is the spotted one right next to the wafer. The other one is my we aren't sure what he is.. (Southern green or peppered, can't tell which.) and on the far side is my Sterba's.

This next photo, frankly, sucks, but it is of my new baby tiger barbs with one of the adults. I have three new babies, but they all look identical at this stage, so I only bothered with taking a shot of one.. Once they slow down and sit still I'll capture more photos of them.

Next up is my Big Mouth Pleco.. which I believe is also known as a rubber mouth? Something like that. He was getting used to his new home, so his colors aren't so great in this phot... and on addition to that, hes taken to hiding and is being shy, so I can't get other shots of him. Oh well!

And up next is one of my favorite photos. This is my axelrodi and my sterba Corydorash hanging out together. :) They adore each other.

Enjoy.

Love the cories! Julii are one of my faves. :)

I have a couple of Rubberlips too. You'll also see them mentioned as Bulldog plecos.

And yes, they are little sods to get photos of. I only ever see my two sucking on the front of the tank, so I can usually only get shots of their cute little mouths. :D

I'm pretty sure the "julii" in question is actually a triliniatus. 95% of Julii cories sold at LFs are actualy C. triliniatus. It's debatable which is the more attractive species.

--Julii has more, and smaller spots. Trilis have thicker marks that aren't really spots, like your fish.

Doing a little research at what my LFS carries, the closest match to a Julii they have is the Corydoras leucomelas, but my "Julii" isn't that.. I'm looking into the other species.
Yeah, it definitely looks to be a Corydoras trillineatus.

Looks like I'll be making a phone call after JR leaves from work to have a chit chat with the LFS about this. Grr.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I was thinking that about the julii/trilineatus too :/ On Planet Catfish, they said that almost all julii cories sold are actually trilis. From what I've been able to tell, the juliis will always have very distinct spots on their head, where on trilis, they can be spots but the spots can also be merged into lines.

They're still VERY cute though ;)

The LFS guy I called was "Well, we're getting a new shipment in of them tonight, so if you want to exchange, you can come in in a week or two and exchange it."

I was like, nah, I'll just buy it if its actually a Julii. I was more concerned with the fact you were selling a mislabeled fish and their stats might be a little different than what you give out on the fish cards.

The guy was going to tell his boss about it, so at least they may be labelled correctly this time.

I want a blackfin corydoras. They rarely have them in stock though, but thats okay.
