New Filter?

I have a Juwel Rekord 70, and i really hate the big box filter at the side, but i'm really not sure about how filters work. So is there a way i can have a filter that isn't soo huge and doesn't ruin the whole look of the tank?

If you don't like the filter on the inside, you can go for an small external filter, these keep the filter outside the aquarium with only the intake pipe and possibly the return pipe showing. If you're in the states, then you could get a hang on back filter (HOB) though would be unsightly still if you couldnt put it at back of aquarium. With an external, you could put it in the juwel cabinet.
