thinking of replacing my 2215 with a new model as playing up after 15 years. (12mm pipe)

tank is 220 l with fairly heavy stock and i want to retain spray bar output and a bit of over filter.

not got big holes for tubing to tank but got input and output in one corner so could put one each end.

heard the 2028 has 2 inputs, do u have the option to use just one input.

cabinet has room for a 3 inch higher filter (14.5 at mo) but not sure how new filter setups differ as appear to have no big double taps
that i currently use.

is the 2028 the one for me or another eheim.
or any advice
thanks

Please anyone

OK, the 2028 has one input only. I don't know how tall it is. I'd guess about 2ft tall with allowance for the hoses, with a 1ft square base, but the stats for dimensions should be on the Eheim website.

If it's heavily stocked, the 2028 is probably the correct model out of the Pro2 range :good:

TBH though, considering you have a 15 year old Eheim Classic that's missing bearings, I'd say you just need a £15 maximum part to get it going properly again. Most people that own classics complain about reliability. They want to upgrade, and the OH won't let them until it fails, while it's still going strong at 30 years old, they ain't getting their way

Thanks for reply , yes cant complain about reliability over the years , but just dont wanna end up paying out £15-20 and it still doesnt work , then
having to get new one. Thats the issue. really .
whats about the pro 3 or others.
eheim site not that detailed regards details but saw somewhere it had 2 inputs.
well to be honested getting confused what to do or get

The Pro3's are un-proven and are computer controlled. Eheim don't do electronics and hence must be outsourcing the making of a lot of the Pro3's. They probibly are as good as normal Eheim's, but I personally wouldn't chance it with that initial outlay, until many users have had them going for 10+ years... The Pro1's may be worth a look also, but aren't quite as easy to work as the Pro2's apparently. If I were to get another Eheim, it would likely be a Pro2 :good:

Having seen a 2028 in the flesh just yesterday (and having a good look as one may find it's way onto one of my tanks eventually) I can say confidently that it has just one inlet :good: There are "bolt-on's" that can add an extra inlet, but they are often hard to set-up

Definatly only 1 inlet/outlet on the 2028. I got mine off ebay for £35 last year, had a tiny leak but that was a 5 minute fix. Have got to say its a great filter, masses of filter media inside and the flowrates great as well. Just make sure you buy one with media as its pretty expensive. Definatly worth getting, mines keeping my 300 litre in good shape and after using the eheim i'd be reluctant to use anything else again.

thanks mate, must have been the bolt on i saw then, so thats good as i only want one input.
was thinking of 2073 but as you say not proven and may consider pro 1 but likely go for a pro 2
what tank and fish do u have

Tanks and fish are listed in my profile mate ;) I should probably bother to update it though, I've gained a few since last looking at it, and lost/moved-on a few also

thanks hunter,

yes thanks mate , sound bit complicated but expect its easy once you give it a go.
so now just gotta find best place in UK to buy with media included.
only issue is that some state media but not always full media.

I can't explain it, so I'll link to a photo.

Eheim info page

Second picture down is what it's like ;)

How do tell if it's only partial media?

For example, Warehouse Aquatics have the best price I can see and claim to have the media.

I'd try find someone thats ordered from them and ask them. Alternatively, drop the shop an e-mail of phone call to ask if the filter is supplied with all required media :good:

1 called and a lot say with media ,that makes u think it all the media.
called one and asked and they said no its only one media, they cant afford to give it all.
so its a matter of checking them all out grrrrr.
funny enough it was warehose aquatics i called.

I contacted both Warehouse Aquatics and Charterhouse Aquatics to ask what media their "Eheims with media" come with. They both emailed that it's the standard media pack ("Eheim Filter Media Set").

So is there required media beyond that supplied in this pack?
