So I posted a topic on here not too long ago about how I had an "overhaul" of bettas.
I somewhat solved the epidemic.
I just purchased a 10 GAL with a light, heater, filter and all the necessities. I planted some bulbs and plan on getting some live plants tomorrow.
I divided the tank to where each betta gets 2.5 gallons to himself. And YES I'm aware that they'd be way happier in 5 gallons or more- but that's all I can do FOR NOW.

Anything else I should add to the aquarium??

I might post some pics.

Heating filtration and live plants are all perfect. All you need really. Yes 5 gals would be better but 2.5 is fine for now.

Thanks!! I took some of my oscar fish's aquarium water and poured it into the new 10 gal. I'm just waiting for the water to cycle a little more before i stick the boys in!: ]

2.5 gallons each is absolutely fine :good:

Adding water from another tank will have virtually no beneficial effects to a cycle. The bacteria are in the filter media. If you can place some mature filter media, either inside or tied outside the new filter, that would have the desired effect :good:

ah i see. wlll i just had to switch out the new filter with the one i had in my 10 gal cichlid tank. : D the current on that i got with the aquarium was WAY too strong. this once is a tad bit better i suppose. : D

Thanks!

It would be a lot better if you could pick up a sponge filter for a fiver off eBay. Run it off an air pump.

You can wrap a mature media pad around the sponge for two weeks and tie it on with cotton thread :good:
