New Cory

I had a spotted cory that seemed very lonely. So I bought it another spotted cory as a friend. It took them about an hour to find each other. They're hiding in a tank decoration together. They look so cute!

You can't have too many corys! It really does make a difference when a cory has a friend in the tank. He will become more active than before and will be a lot of fun to watch.

Aren't corys just the cutest? I'm glad you got yours a friend. I originally had 2 and now have 5 and they have a great time together.

They look so cute together. They're still hiding on the castle and they chase out any fish that swims into the castle. How do you tell if they're male or female? B)

You can't really tell if your corys are male or female until they are fully grown.

At that time the female will be bigger than a male. She'll be wider and chunkier. The female will also have rounded ventral fins while the male's are more pointed. (It's hard to tell by this, though, because they spend so much time sitting on them!)

I think they're mating. Does it look kind of like guppies when they mate?

I don't think that's what they are doing. But they are happy little fish and are probably just playing.

How big are they?

one is about two inches long and the other is about an inch and a half. 8)

Check this link to see if it is the spotted cory you have. If so, your corys are too young to breed, so you don't have to worry about that.

That's what one of them looks like the other one looks like a mix of a spotted and panda cory. 8)
