I was recently given two pimelodus pictus catfish and one is staying at the front top corner I have just observed it is not eating also. The other one is quite happy tucking in.

I did also notice one barbel seems rather twisted is this a sign of stress.

Any ideas what to do??

They have been there since 24 th AugustI really am worried he's lying on the bottom and has dark spots underneath

Any ideas the one left is spending all day swimming up and down frantically to the surface. Will he be better with my neon or platy? I think he'll eat them but would he be less stressed ?

The pictus cat would definitely make a meal of the neon and probably the platy too. What else is in the tank with it?

I had a pair of pictus for years. They will eat small fish if it will fit in its mouth and only ifits really hungry. A full grown neon will be too big. It should be fine. And The platty is obviously bigger than the neon. I reckon he was a weak fish who was overcome by stress.

He went into the rio 400 which has 5 clown loaches 4 bala sharks and a golden gouramis and a plec.

THEY ALL FIT THE TANK PRESENT BUT WILL BE GOING BACK and I am aware of how big they grow.

I have a feeling its the bala sharks that are now big enough to be shark like.

i recently lost green barbs.

The neon is one of my first fish that has lasted and seems to be doing well. I did not want to replace the shoal as the other will eat him and her and have kept him a year now. The platy is also the last of something i did not want to continue but will not kill for the sake of it.

I used to have bala's too. Got four as inch long babe's all at the same time. One died, two grew big an one didn't grow at all! Lovely fish If I had the space I'd get some more.

All the fish I have to part with are precious and the only reason I am parting with them is they are really too large to manage and give them quality of life.
I really do not want to think what will become of them and keep thinking can I trust the lfs not to just kill them. I could not kill them knowingly as I have

killed some before from the fact they died in the tank. This time I cannot understand the water colour indicators were perfect and they are all thriving except

the barbs and that cat fish that died recently. The others are fine except the one left and it is so hyper its causing me concern enough not to enjoy the

others. It is sad but d day is Saturday I really must take them back.
