I've been keeping my mouth shut in the Betta section about this, but I won't see you branching out and doing the same here.

You don't have the resources to provide your bettas with the best care possibly and they are known for being more of the "easy keepers" in the fish world. You stated over there that you don't have the money to get bigger tanks for the bettas right now... you definately don't have the money to provide even a single oscar with the proper care, let alone 4.

Please return the oscars and do a bit of research before you buy any new fish in the future. Run your plans by the people on this forum, they'll tell you if it's a good idea or not. Doing some of the things you do, doesn't sit well with many of the other members here. Listen to the advice given and don't try to work it out if you can't.

We all are only looking out for the wellfare of both you and your fish. You are trying to do to many big scale projects, with little to no resources to do any. Save up money, do a lot more research and then try to tackle one of these projects. Until then, please keep them in your head, and not in operation. This will save your fish from suffering and you from a lot of frustration and headache.

Take these words as you wish, I'm only trying to help.

um...not sure but I think a 25 gallon. I know I need a bigger one and I am looking for a bigger one. I thought my tank was a 15 until I noticed it was a 25 gallon.

You will need, at bare minimum, a 150 gallon, with no decorations or substrate, and a ton of filtration. The cheapest I'm finding a new 150 for is around $450, that is just the tank. Plan on doing 50% water changes weekly as they get larger. Plan on spending a minimum of $150 for filtration, and another $100 to build a stand, and get a top & light.

You have an 87.5% chance of getting a pair with 4 fish. This means you have a good chance of having to return a couple of large fish, ones that most shops don't want. You have a 12.5% chance of all one sex, meaning you will have to return 3 fish, if that many survive.

If you don't have the resources to provide for this project, return the fish.

What r u talking about! My LFS sells a 120 gallons for $200. I dunno know where ur shopping!(no offense    ???? :dunno: ).

But ur still right about the size. That tank is seriously small for wat was again....oh yea.. 4 OSCARS! LOL

Sorry I'm just abit hyper tonight.

:| ................ -.-" a 25gallon tank? for 4 oscars? Are you out of your mind?! Firstly, the bio-load on a 25gallon tank (if it is even that size which I doubt it is) is not even capable of housing 1 oscar, secondly, Oscars get to 16" and are very messy eaters, for 4 oscars you'll need a minimum of 160gallons IMO, please do the fish a favor and return them! This is cruel and unusal punishment, I read an earlier post claiming you wanted the tank of mollies, bad idea aswell, mollies are live bearers and the tank would be overstocked still! 4 oscars... my god, you just ruined my day...

I think we all know where this is headed, and it isn't pretty. Topic closed.
