Well since I was getting increasingly bored of reading little charts with no real differing values other than a slightly differing shade I decided to invest in a Pinpoint PH Monitor. Ordered on Weds and arrived this morning all for under £70.
Just finished the 2 point calibration and stuck it in my tank - mmm PH 6.85 and here was me reading 6.6 of a little plastic chart. With 6.6 I would have been getting Co2 at 30ppm... Yet with the 6.8 mark I'm on a steady 19ppm. No wonder the ugly fine haired fiend hasn't slowed its growth. Plants were pearling but not as much as I would expect for 30ppm worth of goodness.
Oh well live and learn and cranking up the O2 as I type until I hit the magic value. New toys get you skint but are good fun to play with.
/Was using the API PH test - Now looking for other Nitrate tests, if anyone has any suggestions feel free to comment.
