He's a sweetie. His full name is Diamond Pericles Rumpkins (LOOOOOOONG story ;) ) but of course I simply call him diamond. I think he's a veil tail, but it's hard to tell... his tail is almost symetrical, but now quite. He's really a beautiful fish... I thought he was albino at first, which is what made him catch my eye, but when I picked him up to look at him, I realized his eyes aren't red, so he can't be. But, his fins are completely clear, and his skin is almost translucent... I can see the big vein that runs down his side. He's really a beauty. :D He looked so sad in that cup, and I thought he might be sick, because he had some food floating in his cup that looked as if it had been there a while, but I decided to take him anyways and see what I could do for him. It turns out he's just a shy fish who doesn't like to be watched while eating! :p I got him home, put a pellet in his cup, and he just stared at it. I was sad at first, and I took a step backwards to go get something, and as soon as I stepped back, he went up and ate his food. So, I got him into his new tank, and he's loving it. He's active and healthy, and I can't get over how gorgeous his fins are!

I think my other betta is jealous... When he saw me by the desk, but not looking at him, he came up and started flaring at me. As soon as I looked at him, he settled right down.

 What a guy, pictures we say!

(Off Topic - I saw a beautiful white/black male butterfly at Petsmart but passed him up, now i regret it.)

He's so happy now that he won't sit still for a picture!

I finally saw him in full flare this morning... even the little flaps that come down from his gills when he flares are clear! And when he flares, he sparkles even more! His tail still looks symetrical to me when he's in full flare, so I can't decide what he is. I'll try to get pictures today if he'll sit still long enough. :p

The more I look at him, the more I wonder if he is a butterfly. I didn't notice it until I got the light on him, but the parts of his fins closest to his body (about 1/4 of them) are kind of a foggy color, whereas the rest are perfectly clear. It's that way on all three of his fins. would that constitute a butterfly?
