hi guys
ive just bin to my local pet shop which happens to be in chester market
when i looked in to the tanks i had to tell them they where keeping male bettas together
the lady told me they where delivered this morning and that they where all female
however there fins were short because they where shreaded and they where all flaring at each other anyway i bought a female who was actually all intact and a really nice shade of blue my question is is she stressed its my first betta and she has two horizontal black bars along the lenght of her body and if ahe is stressed what can i do

thanx scot

from what u have said yes they are stress lines

just give her tlc, a nice tank thats clean and well filtered, nice clean water, feed her a good varied diet

Those horizontal lines are stress bars, but give her some time to settle and they should disappear. Some of our girls still show them sometimes but not as much as when we first got them :D

hmmmm the danios may nip her fins a little

my girl Holly is the same, every so often she shows her stress lines, not often tho

Yep she should be fine. Just keep an eye on her at first. Some of our new girls have hidden for days and others have been right in there with the rest of the girls. They all seem to have there own characters :good:

well shes swimming about at the moment exploring i think its really well plnted round the back and sides and shes just mozeyin about lol :good:

All sounds good then. Have you got any pics of her?
